Flood Risk Assessment

We provide flood risk assessment for your proprety. This can help you to protect your building and land from the flood hazard. Typically this involves an engineer from our office coming to your property to look at specific site features. Consultation with Auckland Council and a hydraulic model may be developed in order to quantify the level of flood water that will enter your property in a large rainfall event.

When is a flood report required?

• If you see a blue line on the Auckland Council GEOMAPS viewer in the vicinity of your property then a flood report may be required.

Who Typically asks for a flood report

• Auckland Council
• Your architect/surveyor/planner may have asked you to get a flood risk assessment undertaken on your property.

But I have lived in my property for 20 years and I have never seen a flood? Why do I need an engineer?

• Auckland Council has mandated that propertys are protected in a 100 year rainfall event. These rainfall events are rare and involve a level of rainfall that can be quite hard to fathom. We only have to look to the flooding in New Lynn in 2017 for some of the negative consequences of these big events. Living in a property for the last 10,20 or even 50 years does not necessarily mean that you have seen a rainfall event of the type that is the 100 year rainfall event.

Price Range

• $1,800 – $3,600 + GST
• There is a large price range in flood risk assessment and does require us to view your property.

Timeframe

General – 2 weeks

Provided that we have all information as listed below, we aim to have the reports issued within one week. Upon booking this, we will be in touch with you to discuss the exact date that the report can be required.

Express Service – 1 week

Need an urgent detention tank report? We offer an express service that will prioritse your job in our queue. The fee for this service is $600 + GST for the report.

Premium – 1 week

For our premium clients, we aim to have the report issued within one week.
