A new childcare facility in Beach Haven, Auckland, was designed for a site used previously as a residential location. The new building incorporates a dedicated childcare facility and separate office space. The Chester Fire Team undertook alternative design to meet the client’s preferences, and used modelling software to demonstrate that the design would adequately mitigate external fire spread. Through these measures, Chester were able to save costs while delivering a visually appealing, functional and safe facility.
