Hamish Anderson
Planning Team Leader | MRP MNZPI BRS
Hamish is a Planner and Team Leader at Chester who strives for value add and pragmatic solutions.
Over the last 25 years, Hamish has worked in both public and private practice throughout New Zealand. His experience in planning in public and private practice across New Zealand enables him to successfully navigate the varying rules and regulations across the regions.
His initial eight years of planning were at council’s, and since 2006, Hamish has operated as a planning consultant. In that time, he has worked with a wide range of clients from small bespoke planning requests through to large multi-unit developments.
His experience in land use development including: infrastructure; residential; industrial; retail; office/commercial; and rural projects enables him to provide the necessary guidance as required.
His experience enables him to prepare applications for private and public sector clients as well as support councils in the processing of land use and subdivision consent applications and notices of requirement for infrastructure and development projects. This is supported by the ability to prepare and present evidence at council hearings and the Environment Court.
Work/life balance is a key mantra for Hamish – when not planning he is off spending time with his wife and three boys, or ocean swimming, trail running or watching sport.
